Stanley M. Sala

Stanley M. Sala is a seasoned attorney and founder of Stanley M. Sala & Associates, P.C., located in Adrian, Michigan. With over three decades of legal experience, Stanley has built a reputation as a dedicated and tenacious advocate, earning the nickname “Legal Tiger” for his aggressive representation in the courtroom.
Stanley specializes in a wide range of practice areas, including criminal defense, divorce and family law, personal injury, property matters, and probate and estate law.
Before becoming an attorney, Stanley worked at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. During his time at the Sheriff’s Department, Stanley was assigned to Road Patrol, Drug Enforcement, and then promoted to Road Patrol Supervisor and Jail Supervisor.
Stanley graduated from Wayne State University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. Stanley graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (now known as Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School) in 1986 with his Juris Doctorate. Right out of law school, Stanley was hired as an Assistant Prosecutor for Jackson County where he learned to try cases in District, Circuit, and Probate Court. As a prosecutor, Stanley successfully prosecuted major crimes, including murder cases and other capital cases. Stanley’s previous law enforcement experience and experience as a prosecutor provide him with a unique understanding of prosecution strategies which makes him a formidable criminal defense attorney.
Stanley opened his private practice, Stanley M. Sala & Associates, P.C., in 1992. With a reputation built on decades of experience, Stanley has earned the trust of his clients across the state of Michigan, blending a commitment to ethical standards with an unrelenting approach to defending their interests.
Known for his strategic and aggressive prowess, Stanley has had victories in a litany of areas of the law, including defending those charged with murder, criminal sexual conduct (CSC), domestic violence, retail fraud, drug-related offenses, operating while intoxicated, and other capital and non-capital criminal offenses, has numerous wins in the Court of Appeals, has obtained custody in countless custody trials and proceedings, and has attained high dollar settlements and awards for his personal injury clients.
Stanley is a husband, father, and grandfather. In his free-time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, attending Lions and Tigers games, fishing, and spending time with his 5 grandchildren.
Christie Harrah-Kohls
Attorney at Law
Christie Harrah-Kohls has been an attorney at Stanley M. Sala & Associates, P.C. since
January 2020. Born and raised in Adrian, Michigan, Christie graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in 2013 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Psychology. At U of M, Christie was a featured baton twirler in the Michigan Marching Band and traveled across the country to perform at Michigan football games and other sporting and charity events.
Christie attended Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law in Orange County,
California where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2016. While at Chapman Law, Christie clerked at the Orange County Superior Court for the Honorable M. Marc Kelly and the Honorable Michael Hayes.
Christie is a member of the bar in California and Michigan, as well as in the United States District Court – Central District of California and the United States District Court – Western District of Michigan.
Prior to joining the firm, Christie was a prosecutor in both Orange County, California and
Lenawee County, Michigan. As a former prosecutor, Christie possesses rare, inside knowledge of the prosecution’s plan of attack and can help develop effective strategies to mount a successful defense. As a criminal defense attorney, Christie is dedicated to protecting and defending her clients’ constitutional rights.
Christie is known not only for her zealous advocacy in the courtroom, but also her keen
legal research and writing skills. Christie has successfully written appeals that have won in the California and Michigan Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Christie specializes in criminal defense, expungements, driver’s license restoration
